The Trojans added a verbal commitment from St. John Bosco defensive back Chris Steele, a 5-star recruit who plays corner but could easily be a safety for the Trojans. Steele (6-1, 190) is a highly-ranked prospect who is fluid and brings an aggressive style in coverage, along with his share of trash talking. Chris is currently a 4-star recruit and the #5 corner in the nation as ranked by the 247 composite. With 50 offers, Steele chose the Trojans over Oregon, Florida, South Carolina and Oklahoma, in addition to being a one-time UCLA verbal commit. He could end up at either corner or safety and is just an elite player." The verbal from Steele is the 9th for the Trojans in the Class of 2019, and Steele is the highest-ranked commit of the group. Other verbals are from OL Jason Rodriguez, WR's Munir McClain, Puka Nacua and Drake London, CB Trey Davis, LB Stanley Taufoou, QB Kedon Slovis and OL Gino Quinones.
