CCH cannot be stupid enough to bring Clancy back.....or can he? Clancy sucks and his defense has nothing to offer. There is a lot of talent on that side of the ball that is rotting under his guidance. Clay....you have been given a gift (again).....please get your shit together and bring in a real D-Coordinator.

Hopefully he does. I won't be watching the product anyway and Clancy will help Clay lose.

Hopefully Bohn reached out to people who know football, to get their opinion. Nobody with a brain thinks Clancy should stay. Hopefully Bohn made it clear that staffing changes are absolutely necessary. Let's hope we get from a new DC, what we got from Harrell last year as the OC. The right guy, and the right scheme, actually gives us a shot to be pretty damn good next year. The talent is still there.

    That about sums it up.

People’s heads will explode long before then though.

Clay doesn’t want physical practices at game speed, so it really doesn’t make any difference.

Btw, be prepared for Clancy to go elsewhere and suddenly look like a genius.

Todd Orlando, may be in play, since he is no longer employed... and I would gladly accept him over Clancy.

If Graham leaves, no way does Dough replace the DC and ST coaches

Very few (if any?) “hot” coordinators will come coach with a lame duck HC. We were able to snag Harrell last year, because he was a rather unknown coming from North Texas...now his stock has risen and he’ll be leaving is for UT or a head job at a small school.

I would recommend making a play for Jack Del Rio...hear me out. He’s been hanging out around HH the past couple of seasons, and publicly campaigning to be our HC. Entice him with an opportunity to coach on a lame duck staff, with the possibility of the HC job opening in the next year or two. Let him prove his chops at recruiting as an assistant and see if his NFL schemes can stop CFB offenses. There’s nothing to lose.

This going to be tough. No big name current guy is going to leave a job to come and get mixed up in this hot mess.

So it would have to be a has been looking to make a come back LL Cool J Style or some up and come'r looking for a big break.

Nobody can't but Clay. He will bring back Clancy and Baxter in a heart beat.

Same thing was said about Justin Wilcox while DC at USC, then he killed it everywhere else he went. Turns out it wasn’t him, but rather Cutty Sark’s practices. Until Doughboy is removed, nothing will change, and not even bringing in Bill Belichick would help.

This is similar to what I said in a different thread. The problem is not Pendergast, it’s Helton and his soft practices.

Even if we get Bill Belichick as our DC he will not look good when his players can’t tackle in practice.

Pendergast had the number one defense in the conference in Kal (of all places) and USC with Tedford and Orgeron as HCs. He has many years of NFL experience including being the DC of a team that went to the Super Bowl. We can do a lot worse, and we will with Helton as HC.

If he would have reached out to people who know football, Helton would have been fired

Yep... it is the lack of physical practices that created all our injuries, and the teams inability to tackle.
