I guess Joe Montana should get some honorable mention.

If you’re talking about a starting 22, my answer is nobody. I’d put USC’s all-time starting 22 up against anybody, and maybe up against entire conferences.

I could see an argument for Todd Lyght opposite Adoree’ Jackson at cornerback, since several of USC’s great corners played safety as well.

I could see an argument for Alan Page at defensive tackle, but USC could do just fine there with a few of its own guys.

Maybe Tim Brown as a third receiver, but I’m fine with Marqise Lee or Robert Woods over him, since I have punt (Reggie Bush) and kick (Anthony Davis) returners.

And I could see picking one of the dual-threat Notre Dame quarterbacks depending on what offense or era this team is playing with and in. But I don’t think you can take Montana over Leinart if we’re talking just about college.

If you need a second tight end, you’d probably take one of Notre Dame’s.

Running back, offensive line, linebackers and safety, I don’t even think you pause for a second to have a discussion about it.

    Jerome Bettis as fullback

They’ve had some really good TEs as well, as you’ve mentioned Erik.

Hard to argue against The Bus.

    Bavaro for TE.

My brain refuses to even entertain this as an intellectual exercise.

At the buffet table, I got Weis by at least three plates

On a serious note, Charlie always had the built in schematic advantage, so you would have to go with him.

Don't be fooled by Clay's (relatively, to Weis) svelte physique - those competitive eaters like Kobayashi and Joey Chestnut aren't land whales. Kobayashi is downright elfin.

If it were a kale eating contest, I’d take Clay all day. I think Charlie looks at vegetables like Dracula looks at a cross

I could not possibly pick any of them over our guys.
For example - yeah, the Bus was great, but pick him over Sam-Bam? Never!!!
