Not sure how any player on a unit that finished last in a key stat like this should be awarded anything. TrojanHorse likes this.

I'm not saying Drevno was a great line coach, but Harrell has to share the blame for this. It is so easy for opponents to outnumber blockers for blitzing and to just go around the tackles to stuff slow-developing running plays in the backfield. The predictability of same makes it even worse. The runners can't run and the quarterback gets smashed. This is not rocket science. If something isn't working, you fix it. Wasn't Drevno the lone coach not to set foot before the camera last season? why was he kept Muzzled? were they afraid me might air hint of knocking heads with Harrell? O-line is a very central part of the whole but yet the person overseeing it wasn't taken into account.

The award was 1st given in 1980 and by time Matt Khalil the last Trojan to win the award in 2011, 16 times a Trojan won the Morris trophy. So on average a Trojan won the trophy every other year up until 2011. In the 9 seasons since...... Just 1 Morris trophy winner. Line play has taken a fall at USC. Is it all coaching? Is it a lack of recruiting? Is it a lack of talent, especially in the state of California? Or a combination of all 3?
