    And to think that the only punishment handed out to UCLA for all the Sam Gilbert violations was a one year tournament ban in 1980.
    A much more severe punishment was warranted, but to do so would have tarnished the legacy of John Wooden, and of course you can't punish a wizard.
    I am fortunate that I stood up from my seat just in time after the devastating 1969 double overtime loss to UCLA, as a delirious Bruin fan behind me was so excited he fell over into my seat.
