Not that I think the SAT was ever all that important, or fair....(I had a good score, as did my sons).....but now they are going even further (they already give discounts based on race and ethnicity).....assigning an "adversity score".....more bias against White people and Asians....

Looks like the SAT wants to get into the Independent Study Plan business. What makes them qualified to do so is questionable at best. IEP's should be made independent of the SAT by those with the expertise to do so.

Rumor is that they're looking to hire Rick Singer to expand their business into new areas.

Don't schools already consider socio-economic factors when looking at applicants so as to have diversity in their institutions? Do they really need another "score" to complicate things?

Spend a week an inner city school and get back to us. I have been to many in the Watts area. Its interesting, the elementary schools are fine, not much different the newport coast, but by middle school its pure hell. Hats off to anyone who survives, and to make it worse the teachers are the bottom of the barrel.

Because of that they should get into colleges they don’t qualify for?

Well, yes. It's just one step closer to free college for everyone. That, and it gets Harvard off the hook for purposely discriminating AGAINST Asian students.

Also worth noting that even if you're white child from a decent area works their arse off and qualifies (according to what's written) for all kinds of merit aid and scholarships, forget about it here in CA. Most committees consider financial need and being white or middle class isn't needy enough.
Not true. They often get young, fresh teachers who are either attending or have graduated local universities like USC and ucla. It is difficult to overcome the crappy and disengaged parents at home. It isn't about the teachers there.

I grew up in a school area where 75% of the fathers were in aerospace and the ones that most were not were either doctors or airline pilots, and an occasional dentist. I am not taking credit for anything, I was lucky

I am not blaming the teachers, they do the best they can, yes some were young, most were unemployable and could not leave if they wanted to

You would've thought you'd learn something with bright people around you...did you get little pats on the head growing up? "Poor, stupid little deuce."

Hmm... let me look into my crystal ball. Could it be I'm seeing the ACT becoming an even more popular alternative?

We're talking academics here...so probably just the reverse. Contrary to many I believe teachers are a cancer today...every. Single. One. Of. Them.
    Bring it on teachers :)

another stalker. It was amazing period, TRW, Hughes, Lockeed, Northrop, Raytheon, Douglas, Xerox. They were working on the basis of what would turn into the high tech revolution. GPS, Satellite communication, Computers, plotters, space photography, most of the cools stuff now came from the south bay in the 60s to 80s. But government does not create jobs (except when Trump is president)

The SAT test and score should be purely about Academics. the result is a number the Candidate receives. Plain and simple.

All other items should be off the table,

So is this going to be your standard reply when you’ve been proven wrong?

Snowflake, if you’re going to pull stuff out of your backside (as you always do) you’d better have facts to back them up.
That’s not “stalking” that’s posters irked of your ignorant bullshit.
