USC football has a terrible record of keeping their Jacks on track. And, that's the fact Jack. ... Jones, Sears, Yary ....
    Buh-Bye!

If it is academics, then so be it. If it is being a flake who can't make up their mind or stick to a commitment then I'd call into question Jack and those who have allowed him to feel so entitled to "jack" everyone around. I hope it is the former and that he can go on with a clear conscious and enjoy his college years.

That makes sense. Weird that he would not qualify for SC but would for Udub. Its not like Washington is ASU

I was going to criticize the kid but then remembered how Bru came to us. Could be his heart was always with Washington.
Best of luck to him until he plays SC.

I am sure his dad wanted him to come to SC but it wasn’t meant to be.

Yes it is, since Washington is way higher ranked academically than USC is.

By higher, you mean worse, right? US News 2020 rankings has USC at #22 and Washington at #62.

Maybe we can break the streak by landing Jack Leyrer of Dallas. Stanford, Arizona, ASU and Baylor are also want him.

I think I’m okay giving up Jacks if we can keep Jacksons.

I could see this coming a mile away. USC lost 2 TE's in one week. Is any one surprised? They had 6 ? all with great potential. The problem is there is very little opportunity for one TE in this spread offense. GH seldom uses the TE and the one he favored blocks and had few catch attempts. Yary was not going to put on 40 lbs to play OL in a reasonable amount of time. Plus over the last few seasons USC has been bringing in OL bodies to load up.

So there is no spot for him on OL
Slim opportunities for him at TE.

It made no sense to sign him. Other than the Legacy thing.

I've been saying this from day one. Great guy, good player not a position of need with the dozen WR's and the scheme. This is why The Pirate does not bring in many TE's. He can't use them.

This team is so predictable. I knew the minute he signed two would leave within a year.

This was predicted in the Quatrains of nostradumbass AKA Clay Heltons playbook.

Roster building is an art form. Sometimes you have to pass on a 4 star WR if you need a LB unless you can get both. If you can't take the guy at position of need because it's likely the WR will get frustrated and leave (D.Williams, Oregon) and you end up with nothing. Sound familiar?

    Good luck to young Jack.

It did seem like him going to USC was a "okay, that's cool, his dad was a Trojan great," but wasn't a whole lot of hype for just him. If he were Jack Smith or Jack Taylor or anyone other than the son of a USC legend, there would be little controversy.

Plus, as has been mentioned, TE in Harrell's offense is a sure way to spend your career picking splinters out of your behind. Unless Yary the Younger wanted to learn how to be a long snapper on the kick and punt teams, he'd likely see very little action.
