UCLA hire is a huge one. I'm also really interested in Washington State and UNLV.

UCLA hire definitly impacts the entire conference.

Who should be targets for who?

My favorite up and comer is UCSB coach Joe Pasternack

    I like Pasternack.
Jans from NMSU also gets a lot out of his players. Jans had a drunken misstep at Bowling Green - not sure if that will keep him out of the higher tier jobs.

I think the UCLA job is the top job right now.
After that, the well is extremely dry with Texas A&M being in 2nd.
I don’t think there is another opening good enough to even be considered for 3rd.

Maybe some will open after the tourney but I find it hard for a coach to lose his job after taking his team to the NCAA Tournament.

Some more good jobs coming open. Vanderbilt and Alabama

UCLA rumors will make more coaches get extensions

I'm still curious about Washington state

Washington State is in a rough place if you ask me.
Yes they are a Power 5 program, but they don’t land the recruits to justify it.

Honestly, I would put UNLV ahead of WSU right now.
Cal is so far behind the ball it is insane!
If Kidd comes to Cal, they are going to land LOTS of Bay Area talent that would normally have gone elsewhere.
Just ask Hardaway how that’s working for him at Memphis.

See Calipari. New extension because of UCLA job opening.

Now musselman to Arkansas so Nevada is open.

UCLA must be waiting so long because they need to help tony Bennett get a monster extension from Virginia.

    Is Alford to Nevada realistic?

Now reports that fUCLA is negotiating with Jamie Dixon - the guy who should have been coaching SC for the past 5 years.
    Another Haden gaffe....

UGLA knew they couldn't get Calipari. They just wanted to show they were willing to pay big money for a BBall coach.

If they offered calipari more ...they might actually have had to pay it. And they don't have the big money donors willing to do that OR pay $8 mill. to buy out Dixon's contract at TCU.

I just hope they don't get Chris Beard from TTech. He is cheaper and may be better than Dixon.

Chris Beard has some background issues. Arkansas wasn't even tryong to get him, not that he would go at this point.

UCLA has the donors to pay for Calipari had he opted to leave.

Didn't I read that UCLA offered Calipari less than where he already is? If so, that's kind of a joke IMO.

This is starting to remind me of SC's football coaching searches lately. A once-proud program really having to settle. If they weren't the ruins I'd almost empathize.
