Football players in July to prep for game end of August. Have plans to isolate any + students & their contacts.

Today's WSJ describes the abuse Liberty U got for staying open...turns out that Falwell, wrong about so much else, called this one correctly. Exactly 1 student tested positive--and he was an online-only student who didn't step on campus.

But heck--if you can get $70K/year and not provide any campus services, why wouldn't Dr. Folt jump on that deal?

There will be people who test positive, there’s no way to avoid it (except not testing of course). The media will continue to report this as though it was somehow a preventable thing.

But it’s the “new normal” now as many have said, we have to learn to live with the fact that the virus is among us, and we have to move on. We have let this thing destroy us as a country.

So open the economy back up, open the schools back up, protect the most vulnerable, continue to practice good hygiene and a degree of social distancing, and accept the fact that people will continue to catch this virus no matter what we do.

Not sure why Folt would push back. She's probably on board with Newsom, even though USC students are exactly the demographic that is at very little risk of dying from this--and could be helpful in building the Herd.
