    Rivals Team Rankings have,

    Oregon ranked #3 with 0 - 5 stars, 18 - 4 stars, 6 - 3 stars with a avg. ranking of 3.67 and 2259 total points.
    USC is ranked #4 with 0 - 5 stars, 18 4 stars, 5 - 3 stars with a avg. ranking of 3.72 and 2239 total points.

If USC's player rankings is 3.72 and Oregon's is 3.67 how does Oregon get ranked higher than USC?
I don't see any point totals on Rivals, but there are player rankings, I totaled Oregon's player rankings and they are 104.5 and don't have any relation to the point total of 2259. USC's player ranking total is 104.6 so where does the point total difference in Oregon's favor come from?

Can anyone explain how this works?

I don't know the inner workings of Rivals team rankings, so admittedly this is a guess. I would say that not all four-star prospects give the same number of points. So, if both the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 290 overall prospect are ranked as four-stars, you'd get more points for signing the No. 24 prospect, even though both would reflect as four-star signees in the average star ranking.

But if you look up Oregon or USC and see the players, Rivals only show a ranking system that basically list a player as a 5.6 up to 6. That's the only thing other than the star ranking that I can find.

I'd assume individual point numbers are internal.
