I have seen many careers end with broken foot issues, especially for big men who need to put allot of pressure and torque on them. I hope he can come back and have a good career, but next man up.

For all intents and purposes, we can assume his SC football career is over before it ever began. Next man up, and wish this young man the best.

I hate saying it but i do not think he will ever play one single snap for us.
My gut tells me he will medically retire eventually.

Perhaps it is understood among all concerned parties that taking a full year after surgery is his only way to safely and properly return to football. If this is the case, Solo could be one of USCs best "recruits" for 2020 (if you know what I mean).

People! Of course his career isn't over. He needs to get off that foot and stay off that foot. He's repeatedly pushed himself to get back onto the field too quickly. He needs to completely heal -- he shouldn't even try to stay in shape. Sit. Rest. Study. Find a cute girl.

But stay the heck out of the weight room and off the practice field.

Do we not have people advising him how to properly rehab his bad hoof?

I hope he is taking advantage of his academic good fortunes because coming back from foot injuries are tough! He needs to cherish his academic good fortune as that will be lifetime!

He can apply for a 6th year of eligibility. But probably too good a talent to stay that long, assuming he recovers fully.

Solo basically took off from the time he injured himself in oct/nov 2017, until spring practice in March 2019. He then immediately reinjured himself ...if the injury ever really healed in the first place. I'm not sure if another year will help or not. I'm not ready to write him off, but at this point I think it's best to assume the worst, and be pleasantly surprised if he comes back and contributes. The Trojans have quite a bit of depth at the inside linebacker positions, but nobody besides Gaoteote who quite has his size (250 pounds) and aggression. If anyone remembers he was the national high school defensive player of the year at Mater Dei.

I don’t want to inject any spoilers here in case you haven’t seen the movie, but “old” isn’t Han’s biggest problem right now.

Think it’s a huge leap to question if his career is over.
