You know that Helton favors fresh legs. What better way to get them than by minimizing practices.

Helton is a lazy, second-rate coach. I would not be shocked for SC to lose this game due to Helton’s natural complacency now that his job is secure for 2020. Helton is much too busy Christmas shopping for Bohn and Folt’s gifts. Priorities! The gift that keeps on giving.

I like how you use the photo of Helton getting ready to toss the game ball to Bohn as a gesture of kissing @ss.

The question is how many practices are teams allowed in preparation for a bowl game and when will SC use them. They are not unlimited. SC players have been in final exams this week, so understandable that there have been no practices at this time, but the issue is what will they do with the time allotted.

Do they practice tackling at Iowa? Are practices physical or is it touch football like ours?

"NCAA rules allow bowl teams to practice or hold other athletic activities up to four hours per day or 20 hours per week between the end of the regular season and a bowl game. While coaches often refer to the "15 extra practices" that come with a bowl invitation, there is no specific limit to the number of practices a team can hold during bowl preparation." (USA Today)

So, SC Football had 27 days from the "end of the regular season" (the night Utah DISPATCHED Colorado) until the bowl game (12/27/19). Based upon NCAA language, MANAGING practices hours becomes extremely important. 20 hours/week is NOT a lot of time...ESPECIALLY when ALL team activities must fit into that time element. So, for us keyboard jockies what may APPEAR like "taking time off", from a coaching/administrative/compliance perspective is really about MANAGING time to best accommodate a Team's preparedness. Taking time off for FINALS is the right thing to do...period. If, and I say IF because none of us have any idea (outside of Scott Rodriguez) the EXACT hours spent each week on Football preparation, SC chooses NOT to utilize all their HOURS (not days), then shame on SC Football. But, I've never had any DIRECT evidence that's EVER been the case...so, I'm going to continue to BELIEVE the Team (Coaches and Players) will fully prepare to W.I.N.! their Bowl Game vs. Iowa. Go Trojans! Beat the Hawkeyes!

    Fight On, FOREVER, Fight On!

Iowa - Full week of practice preparing for Nebraska game on 11/30 plus 3 already for Bowl Prep

Gomer - Practices in the past 17 days since the UCLA game on 11/23 ......... ZERO. First scheduled bowl practice....eh um well but Gomer is out putting the final touches on Bohn's "outstanding" recruiting class currently sitting at 76th just behind such powers as East Carolina, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Bowling Green, Troy, Appalachian State, and Northern Illinois. There currently are 16 days left before the game on 12/27 counting two Sundays, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Odds of Doughboy using the fully allotted practice hours are close to zero.

Fresh Legs just like the last Holiday Bowl trip and we know how that story ends... You just can't make this shit up!

The 8-4 record speaks to the "IF" of your post.

Why practice.. the best assistant is leaving ..
Helton knows he stinks as a coach . The more he coaches the worse the team gets
at least AD and Prez think this Baffoon is a good coach
If CH is curly who is Moe and Larry

Priorities with this coaching staff are not up to par. They're trying to overcompensate with recruiting since they've been getting a lot of flak about our class. But don't worry they'll have two hand touch practice on friday.
