What's the latest news? I hear a lot of excuses for this season.............
Anyone see Chris Clarke storm off the mound and throw the ball at Hubbs when departing the mound last night? Not good!

I saw it and thought Hubbs handled it perfectly. He made Clarke come back to the mound until the reliever got there, then chewed him in the dugout. Clarke wouldn't even look at him in the dugout, then stormed off as soon as Hubbs was done.
This was all on Clarke - a former starter who can't even provide short relief.

It was all Clarke, and it was beyond poor behavior.

Another year NOT making a Regional! Time to clean house and start over...with a new coach. Do a real coaching search, spend the money, and show us Trojans alumni you are serious about our baseball program! No more lazy coaching hires

One regional appearance since 2005. SC is more interested in lame game promotions than putting a consistently top quality product on the field. Hoping for a dramatic change of direction. NCAA selection show on Monday is painful to watch, year after year, without SC included. The lack of interest and concern is appalling.

It appears the administration doesn't care enough about Baseball to go to the trouble of finding a quality coach with a proven record of winning. So much easier to promote an asst. coach, and be mired in mediocrity.
It's hard to believe the most stories program in college baseball has sunk to such depths.

Someone needs to push back against Hubbs. Losing twice already to CSUN at home
hopefully seals the deal to fire him when season ends on Saturday. Horrible conference
record getting wiped out by 'ruins and Trees in sweeps. AD Swann is clueless seeing that he is
going to retain the Men Volleyball Coach Nygaard after a horrific season of 8 - 20.
Football is all that matters at USC these days with basketball a distant second.

Time to make the change. Hubbs has to go. Our batting is terrible, pitching is not good either. Next year does not look promising. Recruiting is awful. Current team analysis isn't much better. Players are switched in and out of the lineup, some start early in the year, never to play significant time later (Shockey, Armenta, & Moya last season). The Perryman pitching meltdown at Stanford, Clarke storming off the mound vs Fullereton. Lousy base running for years. I don't like any of it. SC doesn't promote the sport. No updates on letter of intent signings. No media guide this year.
No injury updates, Mitch Hart, Brad Wegman for example. Other programs are spending for new stadiums, our scoreboard is lousy. Who is the AD in charge of baseball & what does Swann know about the college baseball landscape(does he care/never see him at games). Can we have a coaching search? Or will we do the typical inbred SC evaluation of the program. UCLA thinks they are the kings of college baseball, we are losing to CSUN..............

You expect Swann to make a change? Like Garrett, he was a politically correct hire who knows nothing about being an AD. Haden has been a primadonna ass since I knew him at USC and was as bad as Garrett and Swann. Who knows how well football will do this year without Darnold. The last NC in men's sports was 2014. Hire an AD with experience who will make the right coaching choices to bring USC back to the level that makes them the leader in NCAA men's titles. Don't use the private university excuse since Stanford is ranked #1 in the nation in baseball and other private schools have recently been successful.

Focusing on the baseball program. It's not a great or good program. One regional since 2005, much less a Super Regional or CWS appearance, that's not a good product. Bottom of the league again, not a direction of success. Spin it any way you want. It's terrible. Most likely, Swann will go along with the current regime based on double talk and his lack of baseball knowledge & interest. Just painful.

Losing to fUCLA 16-1 and 19-2 was embarrassing and the last straw. I am a baseball guy and cannot figure out the Recruiting strategy.

Hey Swann Here is a List of Coaches with SoCal ties that can actually coach and recruit.

    1. Kirk Saarloos TCU asst.
    2. Eric Valenzuela St Mary's
    3. TJ Bruce Nevada
    4. Mark Martinez SDST
    5. Rusty Filter Santa Clara
    6. Dave Serrano West Virgina

Set the bar a bit higher. We need a big name coach. Brian O'Connor (Virginia), Jim Schlossnagle (TCU/private college) preferred. Andrew Checketts at UCSB has taken a team to Omaha.
Hubbs speaks of leaving a few games on the table to make a regional (called lack of coaching). Bar needs to be set at Omaha, not just a regional, that's the problem precisely. Private school Vanderbilt, 13 straight regionals, Rice a private school missed after 23 straight regionals, Duke private school, two of the past three season in the tournament.
It can be done. FSU 41 straight! SC, one regional since 2005, and next year will not be good too.....BIG NAME COACH required. SC doesn't want to spend the money and wouldn't know who to hire.

Schlossnagle and O'Connor make to much $$$ Both are over 1 Million and there is no way they pay that for a coach. Besides Kirk is the brains and recruiter at TCU. Notice how many Top CA recruits they get every year...

SC needs to pay $$$ for a great coach. Haden was willing to spend over a million to lure back Savage and that failed. Programs across the country are spending millions on new stadiums & improvements. SC is at the bottom of the league. Can't afford not to spend the money for a coach. I would go after the best. We are not getting the superstar players and need an immediate change of direction to compete against coaches like Casey, Savage, Esquer and the rest. All this talk assumes a change. The more time passes, fear it's more of the same for next year. While memories of Dedeaux are great, wish SC could make some new highlights at Omaha. Why is Swann reluctant to make a dramatic switch?

As others have stated.....no one, including the AD, seem to care.
