California's Highest Paid Public Employee? Jim Mora...

Didn't see this posted yet. Just heard this,and I'm utterly amazed - highest paid public employee in the state - $3.57M

See what 3.57 Million gets you in California?, a coach with an overall 8.5 and 6 record. not a great deal for the funds expended.

 

Well, as much as I might think Mora is overpaid, I wouldn't want any state employees to be getting more than that.

 

This holds true for many states. Overpaid coaches is the norm. It's ridiculous.

 

It does kind of suck that a teeny tiny part of my state tax bill goes to pay for this asshat. But as long as he keeps coaching the way he does and lose to us on a regular basis, it's money well spent.

Top 3 are all Cal State with 2 being from Berzerkley.

 

The guy is not as dumb as he looks.

 

One could the same thing with Charlie Strong at Texas

 

Well, now there is ONE example of profligate and wasteful spending that should be eliminated.

Heck, redline out the whole fucla football program, while we're at it. Save the taxpayer a ton of money. Save them the dignity.

 

Urban Meyer was the highest paid public employee in Florida when he was there. The state schools can't compete against the private schools unless they hire good coaches (not sure how this applies to Mora), and football is a revenue generating sport at most major schools. Major college coaches will usually be the highest paid public employee and it's understandable why. Urban Meyer made money for Florida.

Mora started off fine, looked like he had the gutties headed in the right direction before crashing. Unfortunately for every school, not every coaching hire works out.

USC Sanctions began 2010? next 3 years had reduced scholarships. Not too hard to figure this out. Even in Mora's best years, he never had fewer than 3 losses in conference.

 

Maybe he could come over to my street on Saturday after the game and fill a couple of pot-holes. That way he would have actually worked a few hours for the money he's paid on that day.

 

If I were a CA resident, I'd be happy for my tax dollars to go to Jim. Having lost to 'SC for 2 years straight, he's doing a bang up job!

 

Especially as USC continues to move on from sanctions and getting stronger each year, Mora will be mired in mediocrity until he is mercifully let go from that ''fine'' institution across town....
