Wife and I both tested positive for Covid last week. A little about us, I'm 51 with high blood pressure (I take meds and it's under control) and my wife is in her 40s with type 1 diabetes. You could say we're high risk. I know there's some debate over the accuracy of the tests but let's just say based on how we feel that I believe the tests were accurate.
Symptoms: began almost 2 weeks ago with a sharp stomach ache and nausea. Next day, chills and temp just under 100. Every day since has felt like a sinus infection, with no relief in sight. Day after day of extremely low energy and just general malaise and misery for both of us. Doing what we can to keep it out of the lungs, no RX so just hitting the zinc and vitamin C and D hard. Supposedly week 2 is when most people either turn the corner or get worse. Here's to the former because it's getting old.
Not looking for any sympathy, just sharing my experience. I hope everyone stays safe, I wouldn't wish it on anyone (not even Biden - too soon?)

thanks fansincemckay. Not to sound weird but it's nice to know there are others who pulled through. So far (and I dont want to jinx it) the flu I had 2 years was far worse. But the mental component is tough for sure, especially worried about my wife. Thanks for sharing.

The key to a good outcome is taking prophylactic steps early. Talk to your doctor about current strategies. Ask him or her about hydroxychloroquin, zithromycin and zinc. They're all approved, already, so regardless of what you believe about their efficacy, it won't hurt you to take them. And good luck.

I only know of 2 people (husband & wife) that have had it.

Both had similar symptoms like yours (fatigue) and a few sniffles. Both in their 40’s and they recovered without any issues though they did not have any secondary conditions like you two.

Wish you both the best and check all options as there are many over the counter options that can help like zinc and vitamin D.

I must have a powerful immune system or something. I can't remember the last time I caught a cold or the flu. Maybe when I was a 10-year-old? I did get a flu shot last year for the first time in my life and that made me feel like shit for a week. I won't do that again that's for sure. I haven't worn a mask around people unless stores make a big shit about it and I don't feel like going ballistic on their asses - serenity now : ) I frequently mingle with friends and relatives. None of them has become sick either. I dunno, this is a weird virus but not worth shutting down our country for. This probably doesn't help you but I wish you good health and a full recovery.

When I had it there wasn't even a name for it,which is why I just let it pass.

    Could be.

    Blood type O, I'd guess.

I recall reading at one time that only 1 in 6 people would catch it from their spouse.

A friend of mine got it, died, and his wife (who didn't distance from him) didn't get it.

Studies suggest that's the best one to have, immunity-wise.
