Easterners don't realize how cold the Pacific is, so he's used to it.

Some pysichics professor once told me that cold is just a state of mind.
If you train your mind to believe it's not cold, the you can go about your bizz without trouble.

I was at Big Bear ....17 freaking degrees....I went out and tried to put his theory into practice.

I quickly realized that he's full of shit.
17 fucking degrees is fucking cold.

Damn you and your theories professor.

Look up Wim Hof. Dude uses breathing exercises and has performed amazing feats of withstanding cold. They call him The Iceman. I’ve tried his method, it pretty amazing.

It was 58 degrees two days ago when I got a session in before the storm. Plenty cold for me.

    Sure don't have the Gulfstream.

When I used to live part time on the east coast, I'd pop out of bed in the morning to take the dogs out in my boxer shorts with snow on the ground. Honestly, wasn't really cold unless I thought about it.

Professor must be a frequent narcotics abuser that puts him into a "state of mind"

We have our amazing natural air temperature modulator called the California Current running from North to South here along the East Pacific Ocean. Köeppen Csb Mediterranean moderate climate unique to only four other places on earth. In fact, California has every known climate in the world except tropical.

The only time I've felt cold outside was when it was the only time I was back in Indiana with a "polar vortex," I think Dec. 2013. It was -18 with a wind chill <-40.

The cold was so intense you stopped feeling it, the thing you notice is the sensation of pain from your skin literally freezing.
    I do not recommend it.

Otherwise, get me down to +/-0 degrees, I'm fine, just as long as I'm not standing still. If I'm doing something aerobically intense such as chopping or stacking wood, wearing more than a light jacket would actually be uncomfortable. If it was as intense as a football practice, I think as a matter of practicality, I'd be rolling like Sam in the picture.

I'm all for biophilic green spaces in urban areas. That's a good thing ; )
