2020 Recruiting Class: What Could Have Been bestlakersfan Junior Member Joined: Aug 24, 2017 Messages: 757 Likes Received: 1,746 Dec 13, 2019 #1 After last year's debacle of a class, particularly along the offensive line, I wanted to look at what this year's class could have easily looked like. That said, my focus is going to be primarily on West Coast recruits with an emphasis on CA kids. Here is what a likely 25-man class would look like (note, I am using that size of a class because I think there will be more than 18 rides available and we took about 3 kids we really should not have based on talent in last year's class): Offense (12) QB (1) - 5-Star Bryce Young WR (3) - 4-Star Gary Bryant Jr., 4-Star Traeshon Holden, 4-Star Gee Scott/Kris Hutson/LV Bunkley-Shelton/3-Star Josh Jackson (take your pick on one of the last four) RB (2) - 4-Star Bijan Robinson, 4-Star Daniel Ngata (I'm high on Ngata, especially in the air raid style of a system we run) TE (1) - 4-Star Jack Yary OL (5) - 4-Star Myles Murao, 3-Star Jonah Monheim, 3-Star Drake Metcalf, 3-Star Courtland Ford/Casey Collier/Andrew Milek/Andres Dwerk (take your pick on two of the last four - I like the class Drevno has put together, but I really wish we could've landed Murao and Metcalf, love both of their games) Defense (12) DL (3) - 3-Star Tuli Tuipulotu, 3-Star Jamar Sekona, 3-Star Kobe Pepe (thin class on the West Coast for DLine and this looks like a very likely class, so credit where credit is due) LB (4) - 5-Star Justin Flowe, 5-Star Sav'ell Smalls, 4-Star Kourt Willaims, 4-Star Damian Sellers/Jordan Banks (take your pick on one of the last two) CB (3) - 5-Star Kelee Ringo, 5-Star Elias Ricks, 4-Star Darion Green-Warren/Ayden Hector (I don't care how many we took last year, you take these three, hands down, maybe even all four - I prefer Hector, but DGW is solid as well) S (2) - 4-Star Lathan Ransom, 4-Star Jordan Morant ST (1) K (1) - 3-Star Parker Lewis This class is balanced and fairly realistic with an 11-win season (including Bowl Game win, which should be near our base-line standard at USC). The class I built comes out to 309.49 total points and would definitely be a top-3 class, which is where we should be on a year in, year out basis. I did this just to show how much talent is really going away from us. TrojanFireHorse12, Troy70, BREWcorp and 16 others like this.
