Former USC coaches John McKay, John Robinson, and Pete Carroll didn't have to deal with it, but future Trojans coaching candidates figure to be under even more intense scrutiny, a reflection of the aftermath of the first College Football Playoff. University presidents, athletic directors, and major boosters that are driven by the belief that their beloved football program has an entitlement into the CFP and are swept up by CFP fever figure to be adding a new or revised set of criteria when it comes to the selection of their next coaching savior.
