The 2021 edition of the USC – Notre Dame rivalry has an official kickoff time, as the Fighting Irish announced their full slate of home games on Thursday.
USC will travel to face Notre Dame on October 23, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 pm ET.
It’s one of two home night games for the Fighting Irish, who will host North Carolina in the same time slot the following weekend.
Both USC and Notre Dame will be coming off bye weeks for that matchup, which should draw plenty of attention considering the two teams did not meet during the 2020 season, breaking a streak of consecutive seasons playing each other that dated back to 1946.
Notre Dame is coming off a very successful 2020 season, having taken an unblemished 10-0 record into the ACC Championship Game before finishing the year with back-to-back losses to Clemson there and Alabama in the College Football Playoff Semifinals.
USC’s schedule features home games against San Jose State and Stanford to start the season, then road trips to Washington State and Colorado are sandwiched around a home game against Oregon State. A home game against Utah finished the first half of the schedule and leads into USC’s bye week. The Notre Dame game kicks off the back half of the schedule, following by a home game against Arizona, road trips to Arizona State and Cal, then home games against UCLA and BYU.
