Tuesday PRP tidbits (7-17)

The Trojans were back at it with another PRP session on Tuesday morning with a familiar face back at LT in Austin Jackson.

Austin has been out so far this summer while rehabbing a pec injury and today was his first day back in action. It was good timing too as Clayton Johnston, who had been taking the first team reps while Jackson was out, was not in attendance today so Jackson slid into the first team role while Jalen McKenzie flipped over from RT to take the #2 LT reps.

It was all Matt Fink at the quarterback spot as Jack Sears left after the conditioning session, and JT Daniels was not in attendance.

Fink had one very nice touch pass where he put the ball over the arms of Jonathan Lockett for a completion to Amon-Ra St. Brown. He also completed several shorter passes to Michael Pittman and Ajene Harris (took a few reps on offense at the slot receiver spot). He also had a well thrown deep ball that was dropped by Amon-Ra, who immediately went to the ground to do some push-ups as penalty for the drop. Amon-Ra caught one short pass and tried to put a shake move on Greg Johnson, who stood his ground and didn’t let Amon-Ra get away.

Matt was picked twice, the first was by Isaiah Pola-Mao on a pass that sailed on him, the second was a pick-6 by Levi Jones after Matt tried to hit a quick screen over the middle. There was also a pass batted down on a screen attempt by Cameron Smith, and Isaiah Langley had a pair of pass break-ups on attempts to Michael Pittman.
