Trojans Defensive Problems Start At The Top

by Steve Bisheff Maybe we should have known. As soon as we saw Will Ferrell leading the team out of the Coliseum tunnel Saturday night, we should have figured the joke would be on USC. Only nobody is laughing very much today. Another dose of cold water has been splashed on yet one more Trojans’ season bursting with huge, early expectations. A year ago it was Boston College. This time it was Stanford. Throw out the two Sun Belt tomato cans the team beat up on in that faux start this time, and Steve Sarkisian is now 9-5 in his last 14 real games at USC. Sorry, but that’s not good enough. And while Sark is taking the brunt of the criticism, it is time to throw Athletic Director Pat Haden right in there with him.
