by Garry Paskwietz The expectations for the 2015 Trojans got placed front and center at Pac-12 media day when it was announced that USC is the media pick to win the conference title this year. The Trojans were selected as the favorite to be the conference champion on 21 of the 45 ballots submitted (Oregon was next with 17) and for those USC fans looking at this as a good omen it should be noted that the media has correctly predicted the eventual champion in 12 of the last 15 years. This isn’t an entirely surprising development as the Trojans have been receiving quite a bit of pre-season love from around the country, including a No. 10 ranking in the USA Today coaches poll that was released on Thursday. It speaks to the power of the USC brand that a team which still isn’t back to full roster strength coming off NCAA sanctions is projected to such lofty heights, including many even placing the Trojans squarely in the conversation for the college football playoff.
