Trojans add pair of linemen

It was a good Friday night for the USC recruiting efforts in the trenches as the Trojans landed a pair of commitments from two linemen ranked in the top 10 nationally at their positions in OL Alijah Vera-Tucker and DL Hunter Echols.

Vera-Tucker (6-4, 285) from Bishop O’Dowd HS in Oakland is the #49 player overall in the ESPN rankings and the #9 OT. He chose the Trojans over Washington. Alijah has the potential to play multiple spots along the line and he’s known for his toughness and ability to finish plays.

Echols (6-4, 235) from Cathedral HS is a former UCLA commit who had long been rumored to have real interest in the Trojans. Hunter is ranked as the #89 player in the nation by ESPN and the #9 defensive end. He’s got a long frame that is going to add weight well and he possesses a good talent for rushing the passer off the edge.
