USC fans wanting a sneak peek of their new defensive coordinator got one on Thursday, as the Trojans released a video showing Todd Orlando mic'd up at practice.

"Let's see it fellas," Orlando says to open the video. "This is your life, right here."

Much has been made about the brand of defense Orlando is bringing to the Trojans, as well as the intense, physical attitude he's helped bring to the entire USC program. This is an intense, involved coordinator, who also coaches the linebackers for the Trojans.

He'll have a decision to make at middle linebacker, as last year's senior captain John Houston Jr. exhausted his eligibility. That leaves Ralen Goforth and Kana'i Mauga as the likely potential starters in the middle of the USC defense, next to Palaie Gaoteote, with Drake Jackson serving as a hybrid outside linebacker/defensive end.

He's joined on the defensive side by three new faces in the coaching ranks, including defensive line coach Vic So'oto, cornerbacks coach Donte Williams and safeties coach Craig Naivar.

This also serves as another reminder of USC's decision to dedicated extra resources to the video department, and the Trojans should especially benefit from that this year, when the media will be limited in its ability to take and share videos and photos of players due to campus and practices being closed.
