Report: Jackie Jones out for spring, suspended for opener

USC junior cornerback Jackie Jones has been suspended for the Trojans season opener against UNLV for a violation of team rules and will sit out the upcoming spring ball sessions in order to focus on academics, according to a report on the USC Rivals site.

Jones started at corner last season and led the Trojans with four interceptions but there were also discipline issues and penalties that surfaced in his play which caused frustration with coaches and fans.

With Jones out for spring, look for Isaiah Langley to get extended reps in his absence, and other possibilities include Jonathan Lockett, Greg Johnson and Jay Godfrey.
