Pete’s Arboblog: Pre-Practice edition

by Pete Arbogast, the voice of the Trojans:

Time to settle in and get ready for some summer practices.

Yesterday we had our annual meeting for the Trojan Radio Network at HH. Steve Mason, our fearless pre game show leader, and Chris Fisher, who will handle half time and post-game show duties, were the only guys not there. Mason is suffering from a bad chest cold; Fisher is not suffering and is in South America.

There were, however a lot of new faces, as we have made a few changes in the both and regarding personnel who are behind the scenes during various portions of the day. Our long time producer Anne Beebe is no longer with the family, and her job has been swallowed up by our engineer Rick and a new producer/director, Katie. That’s the main switch for the game broadcast, and while I am sure it will be zero trouble, there’s always a learning curve when dealing with new people….for them and for us.

It’ll be fine, I’m sure.

We talked about the 6 hours of coverage before the game, the two hour leading up to when JJ, Jordan and I actually take to the airwaves about 20 minutes before scheduled kickoff time, the game, the half time, the post game, the post-post game.

You will have all the SC football on game day you can handle. Guests, analysis, players and mostly fun!

Mid-meeting, JJ and I looked at each other and kinda winked and said “here we go, it’s here!”

I think we might eve be getting Trojan Radio Network polo shirts.

We talked about what we could do to make it a better experience for you guys, s well as keeping it fun and fresh.

JK McKay came in and gave us a little pep talk about the season to come. He was especially excited about Biggie and Ronald Jones as incoming impact guys.

And we are officially rarin’ to go!

See you at practice Saturday night.

Fight On!
