Juco CB Jaylen Watson commits to USC

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound cornerback announced a top five on Saturday night, then quickly moved to announce his commitment on Sunday morning.

The Trojans are in need of potentially several defensive backs as they look to finish off this class. USC recently missed on cornerback Chris Steele as well as safety Noa Pola-Gates, and was unable to flip a few safeties committed to Pac-12 programs prior to the early signing period. Watson joins cornerbacks Max Williams and Trey Davis, along with safety Briton Allen as defensive backs in this class. USC is also pursuing Arkansas cornerback commit Adonis Otey and safety Kaulana Makaula.
Watson received a visit from USC defensive backs coach Greg Burns earlier this month and reportedly took his official visit to USC this weekend.
This season, Watson posted 43 tackles and four interceptions for Ventura. He prepped at Lucy C. Laney High School in August, Georgia.
USC now has 21 commitments for the 2019 class, with 18 of them already signed.
