Gustin to USC

One of the top remaining players on the USC wish list, linebacker Porter Gustin, announced this morning that he would attend USC.

“I feel confident that the best fit for me is the University of Southern California,” Gustin said.

“It was a tough choice but at the end of the day it was a gut feeling of where I felt most comfortable. I love the coaching staff, USC has a great football tradition and we’re going to get back to that.”

USC has already received verbal commitments from linebackers Osa Masina and Cameron Smith in this class, and are the strong favorites to land John Houston tomorrow on signing day. That group of four backers would be one of the strongest classes ever assembled at the position for the Trojans, and it came in a year when linebacker was a huge position of need.
