Same HC so new OC won’t matter. 2019 is a write off.

USC is still a great place for an OC to come to make a name or rebuild his reputation.
At the very least the NY Jets after he gets hired at USC will try to take him away.
USC has the best group of WRs in the nation. A 5 star QB and 4 star dual threat QB.
Excellent RBs and a great OL coach.
All he has to be is to know his stuff and willing to to work hard.
With the players USC has it is still a prime place for an OC.

The OP was asking a serious question, but most of the replies are opportunities for yet another hate-fest. I get it.

My answer to the question is that I'm not informed enough to know who's a good OC or a bad OC. We as fans make broad generalizations based on statistics, wins/losses, etc. without knowing the inner workings of a program.

So my honest answer is that I will leave that to the decision makers who are much closer to the situation than I am. And just because the new OC may not be a household name, I'm not dismissing the hire as a boneheaded move. I'll prefer to let things play out than jump to any conclusions based on prejudice.

Perhaps we go to the HS HC ranks?

    Chad Johnson from Mission Viejo?

Do you really believe they're better than what we saw with Clemson or Alabama? I don't. Maybe roughly equivalent or at least fairly close ... but not better.

I'm serious. Tom Moore and Dave Campo. Bring some experience and professionalism into the program.

I think Clemson's could rival our WR group...but not Bama. There isn't a better group of WRs in all of CFB if you account for the haul we just got.

Or Dave Money at MD? Coaches our current qb recruit and coached JT in an air raid system.

Jim Chaney. He's leaving and possibly going to Tennessee. SC would be a step up
