Whether it's a permanent or only temporary suspension of your civil liberties -- what does that matter? That's like saying, "Your wife stopped sleeping with the mailman and she's not cheating on right now . . . what's your problem?" Either the Government is leaving you (and your civil liberties) alone or they are not. This isn't a matter of "trying". And if they do it once under dubious rational, they've now cracked open the door to do it again. I believe it was Ben Franklin who said "The person who trades freedom for security will soon find himself with neither." But let's talk about the grilled artichokes at Walt's Wharf (with that tangy dip they serve them with), and then a cinnamon bun at Sweet Jills. Beachwood BBQ is WAY overpriced and over-rated—honestly, the one and only time I ate there, it was some of the worst brisket I've ever had. The beer is stupidly over-priced, the service horrible, and you're crammed in a room at about 50% over-capacity. If you want a great dinner in Seal Beach, it's tough to beat Taco Surf. That's been a family favorite, going back to 1992. OC2SC, SC ForLife, brand56 and 2 others like this.

Btw sad to hear that about Beechwood. I was a regular there until I moved to the East Coast in 2008. Sounds like maybe they coasted on their reputation and it's gone downhill.

For over 20 years on the Saturday of Easter weekend, 40 or so family members would stage a bocce tournament on that grassy area next to the pier. House was sold 4 years ago. Too bad. It was a "free" vacation rental for everyone.

You don't believe that. If you think you do ... then I assume you also advocate criminalizing tobacco, alcohol, and motorcycles, and you want the maximum speed limit to be 20 mph. A friends family "owned" a nice house on a slice of beach between Newport and Laguna....i think the name of the place was Crystal Cove...well, the state took it back, all the leases ended.....must have been 10-15 years ago.... We were able to use it once in awhile....what a great slice of heaven as well...

Newport doesn't vote for him and he's never gotten over Huntington's refusal to go along with being a sanctuary city. San Diego re-opened beaches Monday. They are not part of this latest un-Constitutional directive. Rodgarnay51, OC2SC, CrownoftheValley and 2 others like this.
