Will Student Debt Be "Written Off"? 901 Club Junior Member WeAreSc Member Joined: Aug 24, 2017 Messages: 11,201 Likes Received: 18,704 Jul 2, 2020 #1 I hear that as a campaign issue and as a Democrat promise. As of a year or so ago, more than 44 million Americans have outstanding student loan debt, which has become the one of the biggest consumer debt categories, and all told, student debt in the U.S. totals more than $1.5 trillion. What say you -- will it happen? should it? If so, when and how? all debt? will it matter how old the debt is? will a student today incur debt with the expectation it won't need to be repaid? and so for. Lots of "unintended consequences" to consider. Thread open for all student debt stuff.
