Who would be your all-time USC starting quarterback and two running backs?

In the past 50 years, only Ohio State, Oklahoma, and USC could field an All-Heisman-Trophy-winning backfield. Only USC, however, could field a two-deep backfield of Heisman Trophy winners.

So who would be your all-time USC starting quarterback and two running backs?

    For me:
    Leinart
    Allen
    Simpson

My choices, not for ability necessarily, but from a fan's enjoyment:

Tie: Steve Sogge (gamer/winner); Mike Rae (efficiency)
    OJ Simpson
    Reggie Bush

Depends on what kind of OLine goes with them. Too many good RB's to choose from.

    Darnold
    Charles White
    Ricky Bell

It's tough to compare QB's between eras. But I can't see picking a guy from McKay's era when they weren't expected to put the team on their shoulders the way today's QB's are. Pat Haden threw the ball 15 times a game and threw 13 TD passes each his junior and senior seasons. 13 TD passes is not a season, that's September.

Palmer was the most gifted. Leinart has the best resume. But I'm going with my favorite growing up: Rodney Peete.

OJ has to be one of the backs. He was the simply the best to play at USC, both thunder and lightning.

I'm going with Marcus Allen as my other guy. The rushing numbers were ridiculous, and he was great in the passing game too.

I could pick either Carson or Leinart for my quarterback. Carson put the program on his shoulders for the foundation of the Carroll era, and then Leinart took it to new heights.

My tailbacks would be Charles White and Marcus Allen. They were the tailbacks I grew up on and they were fantastic (although I admit I was too young to have seen OJ to really appreciate him)

I watched OJ and the rest but I'll still go with Reggie.

Hard for me to go with anyone over Carson for QB; I'd have the most faith in him regardless of what o-line you assume.

Carson at QB. Matt had better record, CP the better arm.

    OJ and .....

OJ was special with the ball.

Marcus Allen, Ricky Bell, CR Roberts, Jon Arnett, Reggie Bush.

Lots of names for number 2.

I can only suggest guys that I saw live:

    Charles White
Marcus Allen - crazy to think that he blocked for Charles White for a while.
Opponents knew USC will run STUDENT BODY LEFT/RIGHT, yet could not stop these guys....

Carson Palmer - started slow, but picked it up and got the Carroll era going...probably the most gifted QB...

Couldn’t agree more. I was fortunate to see them all since Garrett. OJ was truly special (11 guys on defense all targeting him and he still got his 200 yards per game). He did have a very good line to support him but he was strong, fast and durable. I have never seen an athlete impact every game like Reggie Bush. (still not sure why he tried to pitch to Walker). My 2 RBs are OJ and Reggie

QB would be Carson. Once Carroll’s arrived he finally got some talent around him which translated to success. I still have visions of Carson to Williams against Washington and the first play against UGLY in the Rose bowl to Kareem Kelly.

As much as I despise Reggie Bush, I do not understate his talent....

Hower, OJ was bigger, much stronget, faster. OJ could do everything Bush could do, and Bush was not nearly the inside runner that OJ was. Impact every game? OJ did, check the record....Bush did not

    Darnold just ahead of Palmer
    OJ
Marcus Allen .. get a tape of the 1981 Oklahoma game ..
when you consider the talent on the field that day his performance dwarfs whatever is next
