Would have loved to see Chris Claiborne fill that role. We need some old time USC blood in the rooms to remind people what USC is all about.

A new HC to replace himself.

This team will never be any better (or tougher) than the man at the helm. It won’t matter who he hires in assistant positions.

Starts with the type of players the program recruits. All 4-5 star divas sometimes leaves a void for the Clay Matthews III types to develop toughness within the program. If you have a couple of outstanding players on OL or DL that are aggressive and do Not let up against teammates, they can instill toughness by example.

Either the other players develop or are embarrassed by teammates kicking their asses. Of course, you need a HC that allows that to happen and encourages it. Just MHO and I cannot "prove" it.

I thought So'oto, Donte, Naivar, and a few of the other guys were instilling toughness.

Helton plays ‘ballerina’ ball. We need pit bulls at all levels...coach, assistants, strength and players.

You really need a thug mentality to play championship ball. That’s just the nature of the beast. Thug as in...Mike Tyson in his heyday thug. That is pure intimidation. That’s football.

Petrus Marius Carrollus. His practices were like bloodless games, his games, bloody practices.

Perhaps, was there conclusive evidence Matthews tested positive or was it erroneous reporting associating Matthews with Cushing?
