    Quarterback Kedon Slovis and safety Talanoa Hufanga did not practice again today. Clay Helton will have an update on both following tomorrow’s practice. Chase Williams continues to work at safety in Hufanga’s place.

    Cornerback Olaijah Griffin didn’t dress, but continued to do a little bit on his own in terms of individual drills.

    Defensive end Christian Rector dressed and practiced.

    On Wednesdays, the first team offense runs a walkthrough where they go up the field running plays against air. The first team takes the ball up the field and the second team brings it back. Today, Matt Fink worked at quarterback with the first and second teams.

    Lots of praise for Washington quarterback Jacob Eason from the defensive staff and players. We’ll have full notes and quotes coming in the practice report.

    I look for the Huskies to attack the edge and and our safeties. Palo Mao is athlectic but boy he looks lost half the time.

    They are going to attack our secondary. I hope the front 7 plays very aggressively and make plays.

    FYI regarding Slovis and Hufanga...

    RETURN-TO-PLAY:
    Return-to-play management plan that specifies:
    Final determination of return-to-play is from the team physician or medically qualified physician designee.
    Each student-athlete with a concussion must undergo a supervised stepwise progression management plan by a health care provider with expertise in concussion that specifies:
    1. Student-athlete has limited physical and cognitive activity until he/she has returned to baseline, then progresses with each step below without worsening or new symptoms:
    • Light aerobic exercise without resistance training. (This would have happened at Tuesday's practice or at some point during the day...probably "out of sight" from the general public.)
    • Sport-specific exercise and activity without head impact. (Wednesday...same scenario as above).
    • Non-contact practice with progressive resistance training. (Thursday)
    • Unrestricted training. (Friday)
    • Return to competition. (Saturday).

    Wow! Running plays against air. That has got to make the team really tough? Really great way to prepare for Washington's stunts and blitzes. They can imagine and pretend where Washington's defense is going to be and really attack that air. Geez

    Duh..... That’s why they call it the “Air Raid!”

    Haha- I’m with you. If you haven’t read it yet, go read Kevin Bruce’s special column about UW defending the Air Raid. It’s scary.... if we put up more than 14 points Saturday I’ll be shocked.

    Going to need 25 carries from Stepp and some runs by Fink (even though I’m sure he has been told to not run or most definitely slide if he does).

    It's just a quick walkthrough. Takes about 3-4 minutes. Every team does it.

    Erik...don't try to REASON with the unreasonable...one can't make an ASS smart...especially a SMARTass...they wouldn't know if "every TEAM does it" because they've NEVER been on a Team. Keep up the GREAT work, Erik!

    Yes, most teams do it Erik. But, not on Wednesday when they are supposed to be in pads. They normally do it on Thursday in shorts and helmets as they tamper down before Saturday game. I am not attacking you, you are just reporting what they are doing.

    I was also wondering why are they doing walk thru on Wed. Kinda odd but Helton has always love these non compete & contact practices.

    They were in full pads on Wednesday. Like Erik said, it was a quick walk through to kick off practice. Remember, reporters aren't allowed to watch practice. Therefore what he saw, wasn't actual practice, it's the first 20 minutes of stretching and warm-ups.

    Full pads on Tuesday. Shorts and shells on Wednesday. Same midweek schedule as we saw for the first three Saturday games.

    Jack Sears has not displayed a "Fight On!"attitude. He headed for the portal asap because he didn't get HIS way. He has earned an offer to return to the team by virtue of his past efforts (which I suspect Helton has extended). He has NOT earned the right to be "begged" to return.
