When you're defense can't stop anyone you have to go with what gives you the best chance to score every series. If we had tried to establish the run there would have been more than the one series we didn't score.

In any event it didn't end up mattering, but until our line and D are up to snuff we cannot waste possessions just to establish the run.

we have many more 4/5 star OL, RBs and TEs than nearly every team. We could be a running team. We chose not to

Stepp should be the 1 RB. The offense looks unstoppable when he’s playing. Let’s hope he stays healthy next year

Stepp?? Have you seen USC's O-line play? Do you think you could have a running game with such a weak O-line?

The ONLY chance they have with that O-line is to pass and hope the QB isn't sacked.

Harrell's extension was probably an over reaction. Sure, he had interviews elsewhere, but did he actually have any offers? The rumor was that Texas offered him $2 million. Do you really think that's true? Would anyone sign an extension for 3 years at $1.2 million per year, when you were offered $2 million per year, by a team in your home state, a state with ZERO income tax, where the median price of a house is half of what it is in LA?

I think USC (Folt, Bohn, BOT, etc.) got played again. Sure, the offense was much improved this season, but when you start from zero, it's easy to improve.

Harrell is an improvement from Helton and Tee, but he is not the answer for USC or for national championships. You have to run the ball some, all the successful programs do.

A full scale flush is needed...all coaches. Count on a sub-.500 for season 1. (2020). A break even for season 2. A 10 win year for season 3.
    A national championship final 4 for season 4 (2023). A national championship (2024).

'Course that assumes firing of all in 2 weeks and hiring of Urban Meyer to salvage recruiting this year.

I hate Helton and all his BS speeches about championships, warriors, loves of my life, we were 2 plays away... what really boggles my mind is the fact our O line is horrible how can a son of a o line coach have such a horrible line and refuse to emphasize or acknowledge a commitment to running the ball at a storied Tailback U blue blood. I bet his dad hates him too

They have had the players. Defenses simply adapt to Leach's system, and take the run game away. We don't even run a QB sneak, because we don't practice under center.

Did you even see any of the games where Stepp played? He sure as heck ran effectively with our o-line. You have to commit to the run or the defense knows you’re one dimensional and can anticipate the pass. Did you even listen to Klatt’s commentary during the game? It was spot on.

Agree, we dont run any plays under center, which is part of the problem with this air raid offense. It’s too predictable and doesn’t adapt to the situation at hand.

I have no problem with Harrell's play calling. When you put up 24 points in the first 35 minutes, the offense is fine.

But it always dies as the game progresses and the defense adjusts. Against AzSt, we put up 28 pts in the 1sr qtr, then 3 pts the rest of the way. It is unable to sustain without an effective run game.
