I'm not holding my breath on it, but the chances are better than they were. I still think it is a tOSU and Bama battle, with Oregon and USC running 3a and 3b.

That said, Vic can recruit his ass off, his mom likes USC a lot and this defensive staff can definitely sell.

    BLF,
After dealing with the Toia departure, I was wondering if maybe culture change was a reason Toia decided to transfer? There is definitely a big difference between Helton’s so-called tough culture and the intensity of the new culture ramped up by Orlando this past spring. Could it be that Toia did not like the new non Helton like culture? Just wondering?

If Coach Vic is going to pull 4 and 5* kids to the DL on a regular basis??? The ruins can keep any leftovers that fall into their pathetic, little laps.

BLF, is this a good thing or bad thing for SC and recruiting? Discipline or abuse?

Toia didn't have to do with Vic, bit a lot of crap behind the scenes. Ugly will pay for this.

Did you read or participate in the Jay Toia thread a few days ago. And have you read what Allen Wallace wrote about it?

Why did Jay Toia REALLY Leave USC for UCLA?
    Allen Wallace

I commented earlier today on the TDB that Jay Toia in all likelihood left USC for UCLA because he thought he made a mistake signing with USC and liked the Bruins more, hence the quick switch to Westwood.

I've just received some very solid info IMO, that would indicate I was totally incorrect.

I've now been told by an incredible USC football source that Toia (93) left USC because an "uncle" of his demanded the switch to UCLA, and is apparently so powerful within the family that Toia moved over to UCLA because of this intense pressure even though Toia really liked his experience at USC, did NOT want to leave, and also likes Clay Helton very much.

I know this may sound incredulous, and is too vague to lend any credence to for many (or may just sound like sour grapes), but I was also told that Toia literally had tears in his eyes when informing Helton of his decision to leave.

I can't comment with any further facts about Toia's departure situation other than to say what I have recounted above that he was forced to leave by an "uncle" within his family, believe it or not.
