And next year, or two years down the road, when we go 11-1 and are on the cusp of a playoff spot, we'll get the Ohio St treatment and be left out because everyone will remember how much we've previously embarrassed ourselves on a big stage before. That's why the "this season was a step in the right direction...don't overreact to one game...conference champs!" arguments are delusional. In a league where the playoffs are set by humans, subjectively, you don't get to erase bad performances or "outgrow" them. It takes years to repair that damage.
