You could put Aaron Rodger or Tom Brady back there and it would not have made a difference. jiordone, VM805, sctrojan2006 and 1 other person like this.

As much as I can't stand seeing my team lose, it's another thing to get whooped on the big stage in front of a national audience. The Pac-12 has nothing to hang their hats on, I believe UW loses to Penn State which will undoubtedly reaffirm the country's views about Pac-12 teams being soft af. SPYDER67 likes this.

The fact that it wasn't the case last year shows that it is not necessarily a trait that cannot be coached. The pick 6 was a the result of a poor read. Plenty of NFL QB's have thrown pick sixes. Sam's intangibles FAR outweigh his negatives and with coaching and development, the negatives can be mitigated or even possibly eliminated. Think I'm wrong? Take a look at Jared Goff. He was a disaster last year and people were questioning whether he deserved the #1 pick and there was even talk that the Rams should try to dump him for a 3rd or 4th round pick. Then he gets a new coach, who is known to develop QB's and Goff has a Pro Bowl season. If you want to feed Darnold to the wolves because of this one game, go ahead. I'm guessing that each NFL team is hoping all the other GM's think like you so they can draft Sam and get a steal. SouthbayTrojan91, jiordone and drheisenberg like this.
