That was as loud as I've heard the Coliseum. Aaron Rogers had something like 24 completions in a row, 1st & goal from the 9 or so...USC defense dead tired...I don't think anyone in the stands thought they'd hold there.

We were on our feet seemed like most of the 4th quarter ... blood pressure probably skyrocketing.

I often complain about coming up from OC for night games...but you don't get moments like this watching on TV. Of course, that Cal game was in the afternoon. As many have said, being at ND in 2005, seeing fans rush the field, have to go back when they put that time back on the clock...then thinking ML was stopped, only to be pushed over...and, of course, all that happened at the end zone where the USC fans were....it almost made up for the Decade of Dominance.

I mention that Cal game all the time. If I remember correctly, that was the last year alcohol was sold inside the stadium. Crowd was ROCKING on that final drive.

I was on the same side that Leinart ran to. I saw the ball pop out very close to the end zone, but could not see the refs. When the ND players and fans started running onto the field, I thought the refs ruled a touch back because the ball was fumbled into the end zone! That is the only game I have felt the agony of defeat and the thrill of victory in the same game!!!

Cal outplayed SC that day but only the scoreboard counts.

    Ahhhhhhh, .....Saturday.....November 30, 1974 at 1:30 PM. Established ticket price was $8.00

I was located at Stairway 26, Row 72, Seat 119. What a game for the ages, and I was fortunate to see it.

Many are called. Few are Trojan!
