One good year with Sam. After surgery never proved he is back at that level. Good luck finding a school.

Such a shame. I was really looking forward to watching Daniel put up some great numbers this season. I think this offense would have served Daniel well....

He probably was feeling threatened by Drake London who is definitely better and would have started

Tightenz? We don’t need need no stinkin’ Tightenz!

if only we used TEs, maybe DI would have stayed.

This offense uses a TE/WR hybrid which is mainly built around London. We already have Falo, Krommenhoek, Wolfe, and Rae on the roster with Yary coming in as a true freshman to fill the traditional ''TE'' position. DI would've been a great addition to the rotation but with his lack of reps the past couple of seasons it's not a huge blow by any means and not enough plays to keep everybody happy. Good luck to him with his future endeavors.

Daniel was a good blocker too. In fact I can't remember saying that about any SC tight end since.

    I’m making a BOLD prediction here - DI2UI! :D

Lovie has the pipeline going! If DI does go to Illinois, the Fighting Illini are going to be known as the little brothers to the Fighting Methodists!

This thing with Daniel seems to be a lifetime of the un-luckies for him and for us.

He had that one fantastic season that had everyone imagining a huge future for him. So sad to see that his career was sidelined by an injury that just didn't heal. But good for him in focusing on his education and making the most of the opportunity to study at USC. For that alone, he has much to be proud of.

Well, that opens up a scholarship for a deserving walk-on. Otherwise, Daniel would have eaten that scholarship this year, and that wouldn't have done anyone any good.

Not at all, it makes sense. He "likes" playing football but as the below article from a few years ago hints it's not his "love" or passion in life.

    https://news.usc.edu/152492/usc-football-player-uses-his-star-power-to-help-others/

He leaves USC after 5 years as a proud alum and with undergraduate and graduation degrees in business. Now he'll go to another school for a few months and take a couple of classes in business that interest him and possibly play a little more football if he finds a team with less TE depth or using more of a two TE offense.

    Fight On Daniel.
