Thanks Johnny. Our coaching staff will need to put the foot to the pedal between now and NSD. Some great prospects out there that will greatly improve the roster.

    Good stuff.

In a story released today, CB Olaijah Griffin's dad says that he will set up 5 official visits to the following schools now that UGLA has a new HC:

Alabama, USC, Michigan, Washington and Oregon.

No dates have been set, but Alabama was the latest school to call and invite Griffin for an official visit.

Only bad thing about recruiting this year is we won't know how many we can take until well into January.
But the quality we are pursuing is very high... it will be a good class regardless of it's size.

Retain Meat, retain OG. Lose Meat, lose OG

Many times it is just that simple.

But it may not be in this case.

According to Olaijah's dad, the most important factor is who the new defensive coordinator is, and what scheme he runs.

Coach Martin has the relationship, but he doesn't run the defense . . . unless HC Kelly gives him the DC title.

    We'll see what happens.

A former coach at Poly is close with Griffin's father, and at the beginning of the recruiting process he told me it would come down to USC and Oregon. Obviously UCLA got in there and is holding the verbal right now but interesting that USC and Oregon are on the list of future visits.

"Bump & Run". You would think Clancy's defensive style would be attractive to OG and his Dad.

You guys are burying the lede by leaving out the fact that Olaijah Griffin's father is Warren G.

My wish list is topped by DB (corners) and LB (inside).

I wonder if the DB coach is a limiting factor.

Not leaving it out, it's just been a well known fact throughout the process and don't feel the need to mention it in every update.

Sorry if the sarcasm didn't come through, that wasn't a serious comment.

Looking at a scholarship distribution chart the OG position is very thin.
And if don't get any OGs this year it will turn into a crisis position next year
with not enough OGs to play.

Nah, they can shift OT's inside. Vorhees, Vera-Tucker, McKenzie can all play inside from what I've read. Plus I would think Neilon or Dedich will move to guard either permanently or double train.
