Per reports, USC has landed CB Trey Davis after he was offered yesterday.

Don't know much about the kid, but apparently Bradford saw him play and liked him.

He unplugged his phone at minimum charge to make that tweet. Now that is dedication.

Only other offers he had was from Sacramento State and Portland State. What the hell is going on? I’m I missing something here?

Ok, he played at Federal Way, Washington. Below is 247 evaluation:

The 6-foot-0, 185-pound cornerback is rated the No. 142 CB in the 2019 class via the 247Sports rankings. He is not currently listed in the 247Sports Composite. Davis played mainly in a slot/linebacker role last season (he also played on offense as a RB and on kick return), recording more than 30 tackles and eight TFL. In all Davis said he can play any position in the back end.

He is a corner......but he could be asked to play Rb. Has speed.

So does this qualify as a KABOOM?!

Ranked #142 at his position, KABOOM

Maybe this is Bradford’s off year. He was pretty bad 2 years ago and then hit a home run this last recruiting cycle. Maybe he only believes in recruiting the best every other year?

Maybe the low ranking at cb is do to playing LB last year similar to Alene Harris playing qb.

Imho it’s hard to bash a kid who played where the coaches asked him and did what was best for his team.

Every year in Spring we have a few 3 stars committed, and by signing period they are all gone. This has happened like clockwork the last 3-4 years with USC. Not saying he is one of those, but history does tend to repeat itself.

Well to be fair a lot of them get moved up in rankings due to recruiting services not noticing them. Kanai mauga is a good example. Also a few other lower ranked players that stayed: Ajene Harris, Deontay Burnett, Brandon pili, Andrew Vorhees. All regular contributors

The rankings now won’t be close to the final rankings. Look at kanai mauga. Not sure if he was even ranked when usc offered him, if he was it was a 2 or 3 Star. Ended up around 300 and looks like a year one contributor. Who knows if this kid will stick but I’m pretty certain he’ll move up now that he’s on the radar of the recruiting sites.

I'm sure he's a good player, but definitely off the radar at this stage of the game.

Well, I doubt that they all committed about 10 months before NSD.
Burnett was a NSD flip, Pili signed on NSD as well, I cannot remember when Harris/Vorhees committed so I will say that they will the premise.
