Yeah, just saw it. Really piss-poor. Thank god McKay & Goux aren’t around to see this. So, are the Mercer Bears or The Citadel available? Works for ‘Bama...

I just don’t see this as a big deal. There isn’t any difference between the bottom of the MAC/WCC and the top of the Big Sky. Hell, EWU just beat WSU 2 years ago. We’re already at a disadvantage playing 9 conference games, why hinder yourself anymore?

I said before but HH seems to be leaning towards taking a hatchet to SC football legacy and status. From the poor AD choices, to an inexperienced HC hire, to a poor HC "search", lacking the courage to tell PAC 12 commissioner to put up or shut up. Then you got that weird renovation of the Coliseum that lacks in comparison to others in terms of effort. Just lack luster overall.

For years, I have been kicking around a conspiracy theory that USC's leadership wants to do away with football, a parochial sport little understood outside America and incompatible with their globalist worldview.

I wouldn't doubt it at this point.

Even in 90's before Pete and now after him, the decision's made just boggle the mind. The school doesn't seem to champion SC football like. I believe it could, from the support staff to oversight and funding. Despite having deep pocket boosters throughout the world and a otherwise huge war chest.

Yet when you look across the country, at other elite programs, the level of respect given seems two fold.

Now there are more important areas to focus on as a School and USC is a global institute trying to be in the same realm as the Yale's and Stanford's of the world. But i don't think HH and USC's leadership loves USC football as much as people think (clearer overtime) and i doubt they go to games very much imo (SC Leadership). Which might explain that empty feeling and the odd Coliseum renovation, that focused more on the high rollers and less on the USC fan experience.

To me there's just this general level of effort and common sense action taking. It doesn't seem like their making decisions that continue to make the SC football program and other sports, forever elite. But more on covering up scandals, making odd deals, and campus additions instead.

If USC let’s football wither, so too will all the other sports at the school. And like it or not, sports bring exposure and revenue. Maybe the leadership that doesn’t respect the role that a halo sport program brings should let some others take the reigns instead of trying to turn USC into a Carnegie Mellon.

But yet those individuals are allowed to stay, despite many bad sign off's.

    Well that news Sucks.

Lynn Swann lamest AD in USC history. He may be a Trojan football hero, but is a horrible disgrace of an Athlete Director.

I think Haden was the worst. Over at the old Trojan Football Online board, they called him Bendulac--from Benedict Arnold and Notre Dame du Lac, the official name of Domerland. But Lynnie is catching up.

What a relief! We're going to play an FCS program.

From your headline, I thought we had decided to become an FCS program.

By the way, I think we'd be very strong in the FCS. Maybe not top 10, but a tough out nonetheless.

Why not? We have an FCS- level Head Coach and even lower level AD.

Allow teams to play 1 or 2 games a year with unshared conference revenue and we would see better games across the board. There is no incentive to play a good schedule.
