Feels like i need to lower my expectations for next season.
We are lacking at the guard positions and ball handling has me concerned.

Replacing Mathews is the biggest issue. He was an excellent 3 pt shooter and perimeter defender. And we lost much of the same with Utomi.

Guard play is so important, especially if you're thinking about a run deep into the conference or NCAA tournament. It feels like it'll be automatic for teams to go into a full court press anytime Ethan Anderson comes off the court, (and maybe even with him on it just to get the ball out of his hands) and I don't know how SC handles that.

Games, especially on the road, can get out of hand quickly with a few TO's in a row. Hopefully CAE can develop some counteractive measures based on the abilities and strengths of his players. Having two athletic bigs who can shoot FTs will help some.

    Yep.
You can have all the talent in the world down low, but if you can't get it to them it won't matter.
And.if. you struggle just getting the ball up court in enough time to run an offense the season will be very frustrating.

I hadn't noticed that they shouldn't go into a full-court press even when Ethan is on the court. Got to get another guard somehow.

This got me thinking of the Triangle Offense where a true PG isn't as important. You think of Tex Winter and Phil Jackson, but the origins of the Triangle are credited to SC coach Sam Berry in the 1940's. Maybe CAE should watch some 1940's SC film. :)
