Ruh roh, it looks like the Urban the Terrible era at tOSU has ended. Nothing like another good old nasty, mud dragging scandal to bring down another one. And on and on it goes...NEXT!

 

...and the reason this story could not have broken on Dec 28th???

I think the same thing happened to MacIntyre 2 years ago and he walked away paying a fine. I think he also got an extension.

There is an assumption that Meyer knew based on what appears to be hearsay coming from third parties unless confirmed by his wife, Shelley. No way will Urban's wife throw hubby under the bus. But...you never know...

MacIntyre knew as well, I think he even let the guy coach in the bowl game, yet all he got was a fine and extension, Meyer will be back in some way is my guess!

I too predict UM will be out either by firing or resignation. 50 years ago, this is a nothing issue. Today its huge. Too much $ at stake and seeing what has happened at PSU, MSU, Baylor, etc. I predict most tOSU fans will cry foul and support UM. As would happen if this was the exact case at any other Top 10 program. The Buckeyes are in for one crazy season.

 

I'm just too cynical to believe he'll be fired over this. 6-game suspension and special classes about domestic abuse.

Of course OSU will have a big, long presser explaining everything, and shouting about how they don't tolerate domestic abuse. That's still my prediction as of today. We shall see.

 

I'm in your camp...think Urban is in the "too-big-to-fail" club on this one. However, Rece Davis was quoted as saying an administrative leave was normally code for a negotiation on how to end his tenure. We'll see.

In today's political climate, the AD and University President are risking their own jobs if they don't fire him.

 

I think, somehow, the Meyers will make ends meet without Mrs. Meyer's pay checks.

 

As predicted last year, one day Urban will become sub Urban. Then there's always the "He should have known".

 

... and what's his stand on climate change? That will have a lot to do with whether he stays or goes.

 

Tressel was fired over much less...but then Tressel didn't win any NCs.
