Chris Brown was our highest graded OL last season. He had a good career. I'm surprised he isn't being mentioned as a projected draft pick. Thoughts?

they are down on us if Gustin and Smith are not projected to go by round three. This is predictably our worst year since Hackett, and we have been steadily falling off. A combination of our shitty record and observations that our position coaches are not improving skills. They are going to have to get by on raw talent and grit at this point. I am sad and prolly won't even have the app open.

I'll agree with this. USC has been abysmal developing their players. The good news is that will change starting this season. Helton needs to keep his bias far away and let his coaches coach. I lost whatever confidence I had in him when he started conducting babysitting snaps with Toa instead of doing the smart thing by playing Neilon at center - problem solved. Don't get me started on the JT debacle that he unnecessarily caused because he can't evaluate what a starter looks like. Love JT and his work ethic but he wasn't the guy or leader to will last year's team to more wins.

He's the only one of them I would consider taking. At least he had a decent season last year, which is more than you can say about any of the rest of the OL, IMO.

No one wants to see SC with the most draft picks so they use an arbitrary start date: most draft picks since college football playoff started, or most draft picks since Bruce Feldman's hemorrhoids came out.

Most players drafted since Greg McElroy posted an eggplant emoji on Gary Danielson's twitter page. Alabama's number one!

Sorry, Bruce, how are you feeling? Standing a lot, I suspect.

    Uggggggg...fuuuuuugggggg...barrrrrrrffffff...

My word, how far the mighty have fallen. This is a disgrace. Central Michigan had a guy drafted.

Remember when Trojans fans were bellyaching about Pete Carroll losing his coaching and player development edge? Boy, I'd love to have the worst of Carroll than this toilet debris. I want to vomit...

Chuma was taken by the Jets in Round 3. "He lacks discipline and he's been highly penalized."

So far, the following schools have as many players taken as SC:

    Toledo
    San Jose State
    Charlotte (wtf?)
    Florida Atlantic
    Memphis
    Hawaii
    Delaware
    U Mass
    Louisiana Tech
    Old Dominion
    Western Illinois
    Sioux Falls (really wtf!)
    Murray State

Not to mention the Blue Bloods.

But I don't see anyone from Texas or whoregon?

Don't forget Alabama State. Helton, Baxter, and Pendergast are magicians. They make 4 and 5 star recruits disappear from the the NFL draft. How does the team get better with Larry, Moe, and Curly still on the coaching staff?

What is truly pathetic is that the whole country sees this except for Swann, Helton and the remaining pumpers. As a proud Alum of our University it is a damn shame. As long as the pumpers pump. Swann et al will think they have some support. The way I see it is that the pumpers are actually part of the problem. Reality Check. Harrell was the OC at North Texas he succeeded against Liberty and Incarnate World University. We have not recruited players for the air-raid. Translation the current players were not recruited to play this system. It will take time to adjust. We have 6 tough games to open with. The pumpers look to Harrell as our savior. Again he was the OC at North Friggin Texas. Even the most ardent pumper cannot be this delusional. Our best case scenario is wholesale changes from the AD on down. Including and especially removing Helton of his duties.

This is a very humbling -- embarrassing -- draft.

Haden, Helton, Swann and Callaway, LLP

Marshall comes off the board to the Ravens.

Sad Marshall was a sure fire round 1 draft pick and the clowns in charge cost this young man millions of dollars. Same with all of our players. The incompetent coaches and lack of development really screwed these kids bad.

127th selection as USC continues to drop like a rock. I believe I pegged Biggie in the 4th...maybe Marvell will join him in same round.

Definitely an abysmal draft showing with no chance to improve. It's going to be a hard crawl back to respectability. Oy vey...

Oy vey is right. Wasn't this senior class the #1 recruiting class in the country. I know a few juniors got selected last year but there really is no spinning this abysmal showing.

This sucks for the kids. I believe Biggie, Chuma and Marvell were drafted 2-3 rounds lower than they should've been.

I see a couple rival schools with really good player development. The draft process exposes these strengths and weaknesses, and they're on full display.
