Perfect hire. No threat to take over the HC position. Mediocre coach who can't save Clay's ass again. This should be the final nail in the coffin. Looking forward to the rebuilding season of 2021 with a new coaching staff.

It’s very clear that fans are going to have to just find a way to get through this time period while admin is obviously “dog-paddling” with the football program. Meanwhile the young men on our team are part of the Trojan family, and if we can do something that makes their experience as positive as possible, I’m in favor of it.
I’m going to continue to root for our team to win games during this dead period of active guidance of the football team. Fight on.

Tarring every positive argument with the ‘you want to keep Helton’ remark is much like our society labeling people who think differently as ‘haters’. It’s a weak cheap argumebt

Same guy who held # 5 Georgia to 21 points just over a year ago. Watched a few of their games. Had 4th qtr issues holding leads, but they played lsu, okla, and some good teams like iowa st & baylor( not oregon st . or Arizona) . Who's your choice, Beach ?

Hey Coach, has there EVER been a football coach anywhere in history that deserved to be fired in your opinion?

My point is, I think Orlando is about as good as we can get because we are the only historical program that keeps a Shitty Coach (GOMER) and tries to hire coordinators under him...ie “bandaids” on the MAJOR problem GOMER! It’s completely backwards and USC continues to take this flawed approach!

Wasn't he on Battle of the Network Stars? Did Gabe Kaplan and Scott Baio turn us down? At least there will be some yellow ribbons around the ole oak trees on campus.

Were you excited before the notification that Orlando could be hired?

You posts are illegible. The capitalization of individual words is annoying as hell.

This could be a good thing. But only if they change the way the practice, be more aggressive, and actually tackle.

How dare you look at this in a remotely positive way, sir.
You should be ashamed of yourself.

He has been told this countless times to no avail. I refuse to read his posts until he changes the RANSON NOTE font.

Heard from my friend at USC that the deal is done, Orlando is the new DC. I told him I think it's a big gamble because he has had big successes and big failures. He said the buzz around HH is that Orlando is a top notch DC that was held back by injuries and that at USC he will be able to step in and turn things around year 1 with all of our upperclassmen. I told him I don't agree but it's better than Nansen or Pendergast

This is actually a very solid hire! Even if it is for only a year...potentially.

    Props to Bohned and Dough.

We could do a lot worse than this.

And Aranda at LSU gave up 38 to Vanderbilt. Who in turn was held to 10 by UNLV. Soooo

The team is still stacked with talent and experienced players overall. There is a narrow chance that Orlando will do well with the team this upcoming year -- he has a history of doing pretty well to well with upperclassmen. The real question is whether Orlando will adjust well to USC/LA, if he will have the true support he needs from Bohn and the university, whether the investigations into the multiple scandals won't sink Tony's battleship and the new program/process that he will try to implement, and whether Clay Dough will stay the F out of his way and let him take control of the D.
