Even though more than half of the board did pick USC to win, very few thought it would be so comfortable. A few did see the winning margin, but this game is also about total points scored by both teams. That said, one player was very nearly perfect... The Official Game Prediction Winner of the Week Award @USC1 takes the prize with a net differential of only 3 points – predicting a final score of 42 – 20 . Great Job on that one! @zitorocks was our runner up with a pick of 37-20 The Coveted Most Wrong Title The really interesting competition this week was for this honor. Always hotly contested and greatly sought after, this week a number of players went to new lengths to either win outright, or have yet another rule or clarification written in their honor. I had to go back and reread the posted rules a couple of times to make sure First the Technical Winner (and only by a technicality due to the new mulligan rule) is @CP619 with a pick of 2000-0. This decision will forever be clouded by controversy and I understand that. Earlier @CP619 had a legitimate pick of USC 30- Stanford 20, but the 2000-0 pick was the later of the two and the rule clearly states if two picks are given the second one will be the one used. Special mention for Most Wrong is awarded to @JuicedUpAndSloppy, who won “The Right Way” with a legit pick of 3-2. Now for the really odd one...Immediately after the above pick @The Lizard King came in with a duplicate 3-2 pick. Now even I was confused on what a ruling should have been...Apparently he was looking for another clarification. So I had to look in the rule book, which clearly states: *If two people have given the same score, then the first one that gave the score is the winner. It was close to needing another clarification, but the judges decided this rule applies to “winning” in any category. If the ruling had gone the other way, it would have meant @The Lizard King would have had a record of three rules named in his honor. That’s quite a feat in itself. Coming up shortly we will post the Season Long Prediction Czar standings after week 2 zitorocks, CP619 and DJ4SC like this.
