Overall, I think Clancy has done an OK job. What does everyone else think? I see that he is now making recruiting visits or at least involved in closing the deal. I definitely think a college level DC should be responsible for and accountable for evaluating talent and pursuing recruits who will be successful executing the scheme and recommending assistant coaches as well. If he's not willing to do that, then a change may be in order.

 

This is big...Tee was a stud in recruiting prior to taking the OC job. I'd be interested to hear what all of our recruits think about this fire sale.

It won’t make a big difference in recruiting, IF USC starts winning again. Chip wouldn’t hire him as OC anyway, his offensive philosophy is too far from Chip’s.

 

This is true. Chip's philosophy is to score points. Tee's philosophy is to score in the first quarter and then stall or turn the ball over in the red zone the rest of the game. If Tee is calling plays, you better have the '83 Bears defense.

Tee should have been gone long ago when Clay essentially stated that his time was up (and the insinuations that Tennessee was "interested" in hiring Tee).

 

Cleaning house....the ONLY way this has ANY chance of working. Glad to see Pendergast and Martin go, it's time.

You can't just keep doing the same thing with the same coaches.

Part B.....hiring strong, personable, identifiable coordinators. Do not screw this up!

He had to go, was only retained and promoted for his recruiting skills. Had to promote him or ditch him....we promoted him. Fail.

 

Tennessee has an OC opening now.

 

He basically fired himself when his offense continued to stall and be utterly predictable but he sealed his fate at least to me when he went full emo and deleted all 'Sc references on his social media pages.

Was not a good look, just extra drama at a time when the team needed to come together coaching staff included. Felt petty and selfish opposite of Fight On imho

 

A major program hiring him as OC!?! Lol! He is one hell of a recruiter and salesman, so maybe he can sell himself into a job like that! (No way) ....could totally see him hired in PAC12 as a recruiting coordinator but never an OC with actual play calling power.

Great Recruiter ... whatever, who isn’t at USC all we have heard for a decade is how great all these clowns recruit, yet we have a bunch of pouty undersized prima donnas

 

How hard is it to recruit to USC?

Tee needs to go back coaching QBs under a real mentor and then work his way back up
