A bit shocked to find out late that Andrea Gaston left for Texas A&M on June 19. Gaston did an incredible job!

Internal promotion for Justin Silverstein who appears to be well qualified. IMO, Would have been better to get an experienced female coach though.

Why be surprised? I call it the 4 P's of coaching. Perform (she did), Pay (A&M did), Praise (A&M did), Pilfer....A&M did.

Gaston herself said that A&M's core values were in line with hers and that was important to her. To me, that says, USC's no longer were.

Was USC paying her enough? Did Haden/Swann give her enough praise/appreciation? Did USC make an attempt to keep her? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say no, no, and no. She's no different than any other successful D1 coach. They all move on for the most part to either get more money or more success.

As a female coach....maybe she struggled with how USC handled the Tyndall case. I know I have continued to struggle with it and I'm just an alum....with a daughter whom I now would not even consider sending to USC.
